Originally from Washington, DC, Cole moved to New Orleans in the wake of Hurricane Katrina to volunteer full time with Americorps. A bartender in college, he returned to the trade at Commander's Palace and opened his own bar, Twelve Mile Limit, in 2010. In 2019, Cole opened a second bar, the Domino, on Saint Claude Avenue. Cole's writing on bar ownership can be found on the Tales of the Cocktail and Neat Pour websites, and he hosts a podcast with fellow veteran bartender Steve Yamada called A Round With Steve and Cole.
